Ambisonics info

Using or listening to ambisonic files will require specific software to listen to and edit ambisonic files. There are many resources you can access to learn more and find software to use. This very short list highlights the resources, people, and software that I have been using over the last year.

Ambisonics is a full-sphere surround sound format: in addition to the horizontal plane, it covers sound sources above and below the listener. For more info you can read more here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ambisonics. The Ambisonic Tool Kit provides great resources and has been most useful while developing the Surrounded by Midlothian project. There is extensive information, tutorial videos and free software from Ambisonics Tool Kit ATK – https://www.ambisonictoolkit.net/ and its developer Trond Lossius – http://trondlossius.no/articles. Further useful resources and software links can be found here as well https://ambisonic.info/practical/software.html.
